I tried out the Kinky Curling Custard for this look. The trick to getting the most definition as possible is starting out on clean hair. This will ensure that when coating your hair strands with the Kinky Curling Custard, that it is able to penetrate the outer parts of the hair strand to give premium definition to each strand. Trying this style on dirty hair runs the risk of leaving unnecessary residue and even the possibility of having white flakes when unraveling your braids. And no one wants to walk around with white flakes in their hair or on their shoulders. So start with clean hair.
Another tip for you on this style, is to choose the right size perm rods. If you choose a perm rod that’s too big, your style will look a bit off, if you choose a perm rod that’s too small, you run the risk of creating unncessary frizz and no one wants that problem. In this style I went with smaller rods because I knew when my hair is in a braid out the smaller rods look best. Plus, I knew that I would be separating these braids a little and that the small rods would work great!
