Best Tip for Washing Naturally curly hair

Wash Day Routine On Long Natural Hair – Herbal Essence Hello Hydration

Family welcome back to the blog. In the video posted above I’m demonstrating my wash day routine using Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner.

Tip 1: Always detangle your hair before washing to cut down on the knots that will form

I know i am showing myself washing my hair in the sink but I usually wash my hair in the shower because its easier and it keeps down possible tangles that could occur since im bent over throwing my hair into a direction it doesnt usually stay in. However, if you detangle your hair prior to washing it, in the sink or in the shower, there will be less work for you to do after getting out of the shower, and you will cut way down on the knots, the tangles, and ultimately, the hair loss that could occur.

Tip 2: Make sure when you are working to get the products out of your hair and off of your scalp, that you are agitating your scalp with your finger tips instead of your finger nails. You don’t want to irritate your scalp or run the risk of scratching your scalp too harshly and causing a scalp injury. Therefore, you want to only use your finger tips to clear product build up and dandruff from your scalp.

Tip 3: You want to make sure that each time you wash your hair that you are not just conditioning your hair but also shampooing your hair to maintain a clean scalp. This is especially true for my low porosity ladies. Shampooing is important to keep a clean scalp and so that you stop product buildup.

I’m making sure that my hair is drenched in water because I have low porosity hair which means it takes a long time for water to get in my hair and water to soak my hair and then it also takes a very very long time for my hair to dry so that’s what we’re working with today. This is how i achieved almost waist length hair in four years and i’ve only been natural for four years and my hair is almost waist length please clean your scalp that is a very important part. I’m actually shampoo twice each time I wash my hair only because im obsessed with having a clean scalp and always having a clean foundation. Then I follow with a conditioner and I let the conditioner sit on my hair for a few minutes to aid in the moisture building.

After I’ve washed everything out of my hair, I detangle again and then two strand twist my hair to keep the moisture in while im applying my leave in conditioner and my oils. Then i style as i see fit.

I hope you enjoyed the video and I hope the technique, tips, and tricks helped with your wash day.

As always, until next time…
